An experimental study of the effect of the visualization method on the effectiveness of the assimilation of foreign vocabulary by students of linguistic specialties

Abstract
The present study is devoted to the study of the effectiveness of the visualization method in teaching foreign vocabulary to students of linguistic training areas. In the course of an experiment conducted on the basis of leading universities of the Chechen Republic, the results of mastering lexical material using visual means (experimental group, n=120) and the traditional method (control group, n=120) were compared. Statistical analysis using the Student's t-test showed a significant advantage of the experimental group both in terms of the volume of active vocabulary (t=4.87, p<0.01, d=0.63) and the accuracy of the use of lexical units (t=3.54, p<0.01, d=0.45). The results obtained indicate the high efficiency of the visualization method in teaching foreign vocabulary and open up prospects for its widespread implementation in the practice of language education. At the same time, further study requires the adaptation of this method to the specifics of specific linguistic disciplines and the individual psychological characteristics of students.
