Abstract

Modern professional basketball is a complex dynamic system where a team's performance is determined by numerous interrelated factors. The present study is aimed at identifying the complex influence of team dynamics on the effectiveness of game strategies in the context of highly professional basketball. The research methodology is based on a multifactorial analysis of statistical indicators of the regular championships and playoffs of the NBA and Euroleague for the period 2018-2023 using correlation, regression and cluster analysis, as well as using a modified model of social network analytics to assess team interaction. The empirical base consisted of quantitative data from 60 professional teams and qualitative data from in-depth interviews with 47 coaches and analysts. The results demonstrate a significant positive correlation (r=0.78, p<0.001) between the indicators of team cohesion and the effectiveness of the implementation of tactical schemes at critical moments of matches. Four key patterns of intra-team communication have been identified, which have a differentiated effect on the adaptability of game strategies. A statistically significant relationship was established between the stability of the main rotation and the effectiveness of the team (R2=0.67). It was determined that teams with developed distributed leadership mechanisms demonstrate 23.5% more effective adaptation to changes in the opponent's game dynamics. The results of the study significantly expand the theoretical base of sports analytics and offer applied tools for optimizing teamwork and tactical training in modern professional basketball.
