Abstract

The article examines the current state and key trends in the application of artificial intelligence technologies in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The relevance of the study is determined by the digital transformation of education, the growing interest in the Chinese language in Russia, and the need to develop effective tools for personalized learning. Based on an analysis of Russian and international academic research, the theoretical and methodological foundations for the use of AI in language education are identified, and the most significant areas of its implementation are outlined, including adaptive learning systems, multimodal platforms, automated assessment, and individualized feedback tools. Particular attention is paid to the specific features of teaching Chinese, such as the complexity of phonetics, the logographic writing system, and the cultural component. The article also analyzes key challenges associated with AI integration into the educational process, including insufficient digital-pedagogical training of teachers, technological limitations, ethical risks, and data protection issues. The necessity of pedagogically grounded and methodologically sound AI implementation in the Russian educational context is substantiated.
