Abstract

This article is devoted to an urgent problem of modern preschool education – the development of fine motor skills in children of senior preschool age. In the context of digitalization of society and active use of electronic devices by children, traditional types of manual activity fade into the background, which negatively affects the formation of fine coordinated movements of the fingers. The paper presents a theoretical analysis of age-related features of fine motor skills development in children aged 5-6 years, describes the key components of this psychophysiological quality: motor dexterity, visual-motor coordination, graphomotor skills and muscular-tactile sensitivity. The results of an empirical study, including ascertaining and control stages, conducted on the basis of preschool educational institution № 46 «Nezabudka» (Serebryany Bor settlement, Neryungrinsky district) are presented. The study involved 15 pupils of the senior group. The necessity of systematic correctional and developmental work is substantiated, the author's pedagogical program «Ladooshki» aimed at comprehensive development of fine motor skills is presented. The effectiveness of the program is confirmed by statistical data processing using Pearson's χ² criterion. The results obtained can be used in the work of preschool teachers, additional education teachers and parents.
